Top Family Friendly European Beach Holiday Destinations

A beach holiday with the kids is the ultimate way to have fun and relax together. Choosing where to go isn’t easy though! Read on for a look at the most family friendly South European destinations.

With every location in the world claiming to be ideal for kids, its sometimes difficult to really get a sense of where the whole family would be happy holidaying. Resorts with nearby waterparks and child friendly food should be top of the list.

Mallorca, Spain

This one may not come as a surprise to many parents who remember holidaying here when they were kids. The island remains to be one of the best places to take the whole family. Many hotels offer kids entertainment and even those on sailing adventure who are not based in a hotel, there is often the chance to join in. Mallorca also boasts not one but three water parks with enough rides, slides, waves and splashing to keep kids of all ages entertained for days. Marineland Mallorca is another popular attraction for kids as is the Pirates Adventure Dinner Show.

Marmaris, Turkey

The Turkish people love kids and you’ll find that locals will indulge attention and patience on your little ones. Marmaris is an established holiday resort which makes it popular with families. It’s also outside of the Eurozone making it a good choice when the pound is weak against the Euro. Older kids can enjoy a spot of paragliding whilst younger children will love the Atlantis Waterpark. Marmaris is on the west coast of Turkey and can be easily accessed as part of a Sunsail adventure; it’s worth heading further south as well to find more secluded bays, ancient tombs and to discover the beauty of the Turkish coast.

Arlgarve, Portugal

The Algarve is another popular family destination offering plenty to do for kids. It’ not just the beautiful beaches that do it but the options for every member of the family. Older children and adults can enjoy a range of water sports and sailing options. Younger kids will love the Aqualand water park and the Zoomarine which features a 4D cinema.

Sicily, Italy

Italy’s cuisine seems to have evolved with children in mind. Kids will love a daily diet of pizza, pasta and of course, the odd Gelato (Italian Ice cream), which comes in a huge range of exciting flavours. Sicily is a great choice for a family of many ages. Younger kids will love the Adventure Park for a wild forest adventure whilst older kids can explore the seas by snorkelling or discover the story of Mount Etna. All ages would enjoy the Etnaland Aquapark whilst the local puppet theatre tradition will keep little ones amused.
